Today I went with Billy to the post office. We had to submit our letters of recommendation and transcripts today. Yesterday we submitted our applications via the internet. I think I almost fainted from the feeling that in that one minute our life will now be in the hands of the admission officers of NYU. I know Billy definitely has a good chance of getting in, but me… eh.. not so likely. I guess I will have to wait until May or June to find out my results.

Wish me luck guys.

BTW, Billy wanted to stop by a Jamba Juice demonstration to exercise himself a fruit smoothie. Here are the pics:

We, and the kids, decided to go see “Alice in Wonderland,” the 3D Imax version, a few days ago. I was kind of expecting a lot from that movie — mainly because it was showing on a theater that costs nearly $20 per seat. Well, as it turns out, it totally bombed! The kids didn’t even react to whatever “humor”  there was, if there even was any. For two hours they just sat there. And, the worst part about it was that they were so excited to go and see it.

What a waste of money that was… next time I will read reviews before dropping any of my precious dollars on a hyped up movie.  Anyway, we did get some funny pictures of Danica wearing her 3D glasses lol

I was bored this weekend and decided to do some photoshopping. Here’s Monica as a manga (before and after included):

Danica, enjoying the snow just as much as me, after finding out that my only class for the day was cancelled :-)

Hi all,

I took a photo of Danica the other day and decided to experiment with it in Photoshop. I originally intended on having loads of candy raining into her mouth, but I later found out it would take me forever to edit that on Photoshop. Therefore, here is what I ended up with instead:

Good evening all, Today was a great day! Danica got to play in the snow this morning, and in return I took some adorable pictures of her. I’ve got to say, though, I haven’t seen such big snow flakes, such as the ones I saw today, in a very long time!

I decided to log onto my blog today because I have a photo of Danica that I took a few months ago and never got around to actually editing it until last night. The photo was taken on the day I took photos for the Fashion Club’s pamphlet cover. Danica was pretty tired — because her and Monica waited for me all day — but we made her pose for us anyway lo. Here’s the shot:

Hey guys and gals,

Wow, has it been a long time or what? I am so very sorry for not posting in such a long time but I’ve been trying to take care of very important matters as of late. During the little free time I received, I decided to update my resume, rewrite my cover letters, apply for jobs, and receive no replies in return, yet I still have to continue to applying or else I am going to starve when school is back in session.

I guess it’s true what is being said about the recession. I have been out of work for a little over a year now and it is only getting tougher and tougher to land an interview. Hence, if anyone is looking for a starting out photographer and who would like inexpensive service; whether it be family portraits, engagements, weddings, baby showers, charity, or modeling – let me know and I am gladly at your service; contact me at info@jasonnunezphotography.com or leave me a comment.

So, without further ado, I would like to present to you the photos I have had some time to take or mess around with on Photoshop:

This is a photo I took, with a reverse macro lens set up, of my cousin’s eye that I manipulated on Photoshop. Here is the original: http://i25.tinypic.com/2n0khs9.jpg and stock image: http://storage.sxc.hu/x/xm/xmje43p/746512_10161994.jpg

Hello all,

This past weekend was something to talk about; I ran into a very awkward situation when I was asked to photograph the funeral, or rather the viewing, of my girlfriend’s relative the same day we were supposed to go to a birthday party. How much weirder can that be? – celebrating the death of a mother’s child and the birth of another, all in one day? .

Anyway, we were supposed to arrive at the viewing by 4:00pm and we arrived about an hour and a half late. When we arrived, my girlfriend, Monica, had to ask her relative for permission to take the photographs, even though it was her relative who originally wanted us to take them. When we were given the go-ahead I didn’t realize just how delicate of a matter it was to shoot a viewing; There were at least 40 people in the room and every time my shutter went off I was afraid one of them would get up and scream at me for being an insensitive douchebag. Somehow or another, I managed to get two semi-decent shots – which were not as sharp as I would have liked them to be – out of the many that I shot.

Finally, after I got that out of the side, I decided to take a seat with my girlfriend, while our two year-old daughter ran around like the maniac that she is; as if she was not enough to handle, conditions got worse when more children showed up at the viewing. Monica and I decided to take them out until the ceremony was over and as we waited outside her 5-month-old niece showed up and it turned out to be the best funeral/viewing we have ever attended. At one point, my daughter, Danica, said she wanted to go back to “the fun place,” when referring to the funeral home.

Here is a picture of Monica’s niece and a large bag of chips we were eating:

Eventually, after the funeral was over, we headed to the train:

Nikkis Bday_292 and later hopped on Staten Island’s Ferry, landing ourselves at the birthday party; which was over when we got there because it was a sweet sixteen, and the kids had curfews, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless because we were amongst our kin-members. I had long conversations, and drinks, with Monica’s family members, whom I have never spoken with before. I did not really take pictures of the party because there was no party to take pictures of, but i did end up taking pictures of the food we were served for breakfast – right before we completely devoured it.
